Our Analysis and Test Results
Mommore is a Chinese company that started off making family-oriented totes such as diaper bags, breast pump bags, and kid's backpacks. They have since widened their scope to include other kid-related items and now have various products such as toys, clothing, and bags.
Ease of Use
Ease of use and organization are key components to the perfect breast pump bag. The Mommore has some elements that we love, such as double-sided openings on the bottom of the bag, a wide zippered top opening, and multiple carry straps. However, when it comes to organizational pockets, we feel it is a bit lacking. The mom pocket is a wide zippered compartment on the bag's exterior; however, it only has two additional organizational dividers. Mommore includes a changing pad with its pump bag, which makes it functional as a diaper bag.
The main compartment only has one zippered pocket and one mesh pocket. You can be left digging through a black hole of baby items, pumping accessories, and personal products in a scenario like this. Three insulated pockets can hold individual bottles to keep them cool for a short time, but they do not have a closure, just elastic around the top, so they are not as efficient as an actual cooler.
Quality is not an area where the Mommore excels. It is one of the least expensive bags in the group, making it a good budget option, but the material feels a bit flimsy for our liking, and the hardware does not seem to last long. There are numerous reports of zippers splitting after just a few weeks of use.
If you are looking for a backup bag or a tote for occasional use, this may be ideal. We are happy with the bag's overall functionality but find that it needs a bit more gentle handling than some others.
Weight and Bulk
Weighing in at a breezy 1.6 lbs, the Mommore is one of the lightest bags we tested, and you won't feel weighed down by heavy materials. However, the bag's size does mean that it has the potential to get bulky and heavy, really fast. We recommend being mindful of what you choose to pack, even though it seems like you can fit everything and the kitchen sink inside. We appreciate that the tote is large enough to fit both a Spectra pump and a 15" laptop with ease.
The Mommore is a step up from traditional breast pump bags in terms of style. The textured fabric is subtle but sleek looking, and the faux-leather accents and bright gold hardware really pop. Although, we fear the bag looking slumpy for lack of stiffness and structure in the fabric. Overall, the tote is versatile enough to fly under the radar as a breast pump or diaper bag.
The Mommore Breast Pump Bag is a good option for moms looking for an affordable bag that can function in multiple capacities. We like that it provides a simple and unobtrusive way to bring along your pump wherever you go. If you are looking for a high-quality bag that will last for years, you may want to look elsewhere. However, for a short term fix, the Mommore is a great option.
