Planet Wise Waterproof Hanging Bags are adorable and come in many attractive designs and colors. The bags are lightweight and versatile with an attached handle making it easy to hang on a doorknob and out of the way. This bag has a challenging zipper, and the odor containment is only so-so. Rinsing poop off before depositing dirty diapers is a must to keep smells at bay and might be a deal-breaker for some families. While this bag is convenient and made of anti-microbial materials, the outer cloth bag will wear with repeated washing. Overall, we are impressed with the performance of this hanging bag that is easy to wash and an eco-friendly answer, especially for cloth diapers.
Planet Wise Hanging Wet/Dry Bag Review

Our Analysis and Test Results
Planet Wise is a family run company owned by Nicki and Jesse Maynard. Their goal is to maintain an environmentally and socially responsible company by manufacturing reusable products locally, using products made in the U.S.A. as much as possible, and ensuring that all products are PVC and lead-free. Employees are given flexible schedules to work around family, making it a family-friendly place to work. They sell the Hanging Bag and other products ranging from reusable wipe containers to nursing covers.
The Planet Wise Hanging Bag is the perfect option if you want a diaper pail that doesn't take up floor space. With convenient handles, you can easily hang the bag, keeping it out of the way and off the floor. This design helps prevent your dirty diaper container from being a nursery eyesore. We like that it is lightweight cotton and has a front zipper pocket to store dry items, like clean diapers and wipes.
With anti-microbial materials, a waterproof PUL liner, and locking zipper, the Hanging Bag has hidden seals that keep it 100% waterproof. Measuring 16 x 26.5 inches, these hanging bags are available in over 50 attractive styles/colors and come with a 60-day warranty (for "seams, stitching, elastics, zippers or any other sewing defects. Fading or staining is considered normal wear and tear and does not fall under this warranty," according to the manufacturer.) The zippers are also PVC and lead-free.
The Hanging Bag is not the most durable option. With cloth sides instead of plastic, you'll have some trade-offs to consider including how long the bag will last compared to the competition. Also, since you will be storing dirty cloth diapers inside, it will need frequent washing (don't forget to rinse poop off before tossing a diaper in the bag).
This repeated machine washing will result in faded colors, thinning fabric, tears to the lining, and zipper trouble. How long will this take? It is hard to say, but Planet Wise does offer some helpful tips to keep your bag working well as long as possible and prevent voiding your warranty by mishandling the bag.
Odor containment is also a concern with this option. Because the only barrier between the stinky contents and your nose is a zipper, the Hanging Bag does not prevent odors from escaping as well as most of the competition.
If you want a smaller option to hold your dirty cloth diapers, then the Planet Wise Hanging Bag might be exactly what you need. With attractive patterns, lightweight materials, and hanging handles, this bag is perfect for off the floor containment, traveling, or use as a hamper beyond your diapering days. While you can expect more odor from the bag than a traditional diaper pail, if you rinse solids in the toilet and empty the bag frequently, you can avoid a smell build-up. We think the Hanging Bag is a good choice for cloth diapering families who want to keep it simple and avoid a plastic pail in their nursery.
The Wet/Dry bags are available in multiple sizes and styles. One option is the Planet Wise Clutch Wet/Dry Bag, a handy smaller bag to keep in your diaper bag or at daycare for changes on-the-go and away from home.
Planet Wise also makes a variety of brightly-designed diaper pail liners suitable for the simplehuman Step Can or other cloth diaper appropriate pails.
