Our Analysis

Written by a journalist and video producer who lives with her husband and sons in New York City, Mama Knows Breast by Andi Silverman is a humorous yet informative guide for breastfeeding mothers. At 160 pages, this little gem of a book is a great gift for any new mom as it helps with tips and support regarding all aspects of breastfeeding.

With a foreward by pediatrician Dr. Stephanie Freilich, Mama Knows Breast focuses on the following topics: positioning baby, coping with related stressors, breastfeeding in public, spouse support, personal anecdotes from other breastfeeding moms, and tips on pumping, stockpiling, weaning, etc.

We think any mom who is considering or is currently breastfeeding would truly enjoy this supportive and light-handed book, no matter how sleep deprived she is; for those who need more specific and in-depth advice on increasing milk supply, we recommend The Breastfeeding Mother's Guide to Making More Milk.
