This recall involves the thru-bolt axle offered free by Britax/BOB as one of the possible incentives to eligible consumers related to the BOB Information Campaign announced on January 10, 2019. The model number of the thru-bolt axle is S11393700 and is intended for use with BOB Jogging Strollers made between 1/1/2009 to 9/30/2015.

We encourage all BOB owners to research the Campaign to determine if their product is affected, so you can take advantage of the possible incentives.

You can find detailed information about several BOB jogging strollers in our Jogging Stroller Review. We do not have experience with the free of charge modified thru-bolt axle provided in relation to the Information Campaign.

Concern/Hazard


The modified thru-bolt axle can fracture.

Confirmed Incidents


There have been 8 reported incidents of the replacement modified thru-bolt provided thru the campaign fracturing during use. There have been no reports of injuries in relation to the modified thru-bolt axle.

Remedy


Consumers should stop using the modified thru-bolt axle immediately and contact Britax for a free replacement thru-bolt axle. Britax is contacting consumers who received the thru-bolt axles to provide a free replacement thru-bolt axle.
