The Skinny

The Fisher Price Healthy Care Deluxe Booster Seat earned our Best Value Award 5 other portable high chairs in our review. It was a strong performer across the board in ease of use, safety, quality, and ease of cleaning. The only area it faltered was in portability due to its bulky nature. This is a strong contender for a main high chair for babies 1 year and upwards with a max weight of 50 pounds. It has an adjustable, removable dining tray and adjustable height so it will adapt with baby's growth and development.

The Fisher Price Healthy Care Booster Seat is quite a versatile high chair for 12 months+. Though on the bulkier side for portability, it can be taken on the go with a fold-down seat back and carry strap. The booster secures itself to any dining chair by strapping around the back and the bottom of really any chair (with the exception of a restaurant booth), preventing any sliding and movement while child is eating. The seat includes a removable feeding tray and snap-on lid with cover for optional dining or even multiple courses. In addition, the seat itself has three height adjustments to adjust for development, different children, or a variety of seat and dining surface heights. It nicely adjustable 3-point harness.

Ease Of Use

The Fisher-Price scored an 8 of 10 alongside the Editors's Choice Winner, the Inglesina Fast Table Chair in ease of use. Easy to set up, versatile, and well-liked by toddlers, it was a favorite in our review. The booster seat can fit almost all dining chairs 2 chair straps (1 underneath the seat and 1 behind the seat back) and are easily and widely adjustable with simple attachment clasps. Getting baby secured into the 3-point waist harness is easy and the seat has nice sturdy back and side support. Should baby dine with the tray, a snap-on tray and cover are extra to the base tray. If you're using the table as the toddlers dining area, the seat is adjustable to meet height requirements. As a Hook-On, the Inglesina has an easy twist tight mechanism with rubberized arms for a secure fit onto a dining surface. On the flip side, the Munchkin Travel Booster Seat has 3 straps that are awkward and cumbersome to install for a good fit.

This white tray can be removed to reveal another dining tray. Alternatively the adjustable tray can be removed so that baby can dine directly at the table.

Safety and Quality

The Healthy Care Deluxe scored a 7 of 10 for its secure fit to a chair, nice support for baby, secure 3- point harness straps, and overall durability. Its hard plastic that resists wear and tear and its high sides and sturdy seat back provide upper body support for a toddler. As well, the snap on tray provides additional security when put to use.

Portability

The rigid back support can fold down for a more compact carry (although still quite large for out and about use).
The rigid back support can fold down for a more compact carry (although still quite large for out and about use).
The healthy care booster seat scored just a 5 of 10 for portability due to its bulkiness and lack of a bag. At a weight of 4 pounds with included shoulder straps, the bulk can be managed though it doesn't standup against the Phil and Teds Lobster and the Editors' Choice winner, the Inglesina Fast Table Chair in terms of carry size. These portable high-chairs fold down to flat and are equipped with carry bags, making a huge difference when toting these products around town.

Ease Of Cleaning

The Fisher Price was by far the easiest of all of the portable high chairs in our review to clean earning a 9 of 10. Made of hard plastic, it can easily be wiped down with a wet washcloth or even taken outside for a quick rinse with the hose. The trays are top rack of the dishwasher safe, but we recommend hand washing them in the sink to retain the integrity of the plastic and to avoid chemical leaching into baby's food. Unlike the lowest scoring portable high chair, the Munchkin Travel Booster Seat, there are no hidden crevices where food can hide or difficult to clean fabric that can have a tendency to retain odor and get stinky over time. In fact, the Fisher-Price's straps are removable and can be hand washed, eliminating gunk pile up.
The Healthy Deluxe Booster Seats contains a removable lid that can be hand-washed in the sink for quick cleaning.

Best Applications

This is a great option to have as a highchair at grandma's house or even on hand for when friends who have little ones visit. It is a true workhorse and is extremely versatile with removable, adjustable tray and adjustable height. We wouldn't recommend it for travel as it is just too bulky to be lugging everywhere, unless you are going by car and have extra room. But for the occasional jaunt to go out to eat, this is a clean and secure option to have on hand that will fit on any chair.

Value

For the budget savvy, this is an exceptional value including 2 dining trays with a cover as well as a carry strap. At half the price of our Editors' Choice Winner, the Inglesina Fast Table Chair, performed a mere 5 points lower in overall score. Durable with a max weight of 50 pounds, it will go the distance and really can be the only high chair a family would need at all.

Conclusion

An absolutely awesome booster seat that is versatile, durable, and easy to use and clean that will take your 1 year+ child the distance. Our Best Value award that won't break the bank. We highly recommend it.

Fisher Price also manufactures the Fisher Price SpaceSaver, $60, which attaches to dining chairs but is even bulkier and more expensive. It does come with a 5-point harness that converts to a 3-point.
