The Skinny

The Thermos Foogo Insulated Straw Bottle scored second place in our review. It is a nice stainless steel insulated bottle with a flexible silicone straw spout. It is relatively leak proof and has a lid to keep the spout clean and free of debris. While our only complaint might be the smaller size and need for more frequent refills, it is a nice size for pre-school children and fits well in lunch bags and little back packs. We really liked this bottle and gave it our Top Pick for Pre-Schoolers award.

The Thermos Foogo Straw Bottle is a vacuum insulated stainless steel bottle designed to keep maximum temperature retention. The bottle is completely BPA free, and has unbreakable steel interior and exterior. This bottle has a push button operated lid that is leak proof and keeps the straw more hygienic. It has a soft silicone straw spout that is durable and easy to sip from. The body of the bottle is slightly contoured for easier gripping, and the lid is interchangeable with all the Foogo phases lids. The body of this bottle is sweat proof, so it won't leave water rings. The body and parts are dishwasher safe. It holds 10 ounces, and comes in a few different patterns.

Top Pick for Preschoolers: Thermos Foogo Insulated Bottle. This was the Kid's Water Bottle we found ourselves always grabbing to put in our preschooler's backpack. It is easy for little ones to hold with a push button pop-open lid that is easy to open and close. Parents also liked it for the kid's overnight water bottle as the lid prevents leaking very nicely.
This bottle is easy to drink from. It has a nice flow rate and it requires very little sucking action to elicit fluid from the straw. It has an effective leak-proof valve that prevented leaks and was still easy to drink from, something relatively rare in the bottles we reviewed. This bottle did well in leak tests with the lid open or closed, scoring a 10 of 10 for leaks in our tests.

This bottle had a nice contoured design and a shorter bottle body than most of the bottles in our review. While it was still a heavy bottle (thanks in part to its insulation properties) it is still shorter and easy to grip for smaller hands, rated for children even 18 months old.
Foogo's line up of Vacuum Insulated Cups disassembled. Soft Spout Sippy (left) has 5 pieces and the Hard Spout Sippy (Center) and Straw Bottle (Right) both have 5 pieces. Our favorite from this trilogy is the Straw Bottle as it is easy to use and easy to assemble disassemble and clean. It is important to have a small straw cleaner to ensure appropriate hygiene is maintained with the Straw Bottle.

The stainless steel properties of the body also give it a good eco-health score, and the insulation helped improve the score further by keeping contents cool and ready to drink. This bottle has a silicone straw spout and leak-proof valve, but the straw is made of plastic. Plastic isn't great, but at least the majority of the bottle is not plastic which is a win in our book.

We also liked that we didn't have to touch the mouthpiece to use the bottle which helped decrease the amount of grubby germs that came in contact with children's mouths. The lid is easy to open and doesn't require contact with the straw. It helps prevent leaks and it also helped keep the mouthpiece clean and free of debris.

Dislikes

There isn't a lot to dislike about this bottle, but it isn't perfect either. It is a heavier bottle than some of the others, and certainly heavier than the non-insulated bottles in our review. However, its shorter size prevented it from being the heaviest bottle in our review, with that honor going to the Contigo AutoSeal.

We also didn't like that this bottle has a plastic straw. It would be nice If there was no plastic on contact with the liquid contents, especially not sitting in the contents for a long period of time potentially leaching chemicals, but it isn't a deal breaker considering that the majority of the cup is stainless steel.

While the bottle body is stainless steel, the spout and valve are silicone, and the straw is plastic
This bottle has more parts than some of the other bottles. It requires a special straw cleaning brush in order to clean the straw and the leak-proof valve. We prefer bottles that don't require special cleaning tools, but in its defense, pretty mush any bottle with a straw is going to require special tools to ensure proper cleaning.

Conclusion

Foogo Insulated. Easy for little ones to hold with a push button pop-open lid that is easy to open and close.

The Thermos Foogo Insulated Straw Bottle is a stainless steel insulated bottle that is easy for little ones to use and comes with a nice lid to keep the mouthpiece clean. We liked that this bottle is easy to hold and has a regular flow rate and great leak-proof properties. There is very little to dislike about this bottle and in the end it was one of our favorites and go to bottles for our own children. While this bottle is not an award winner, given the higher score of the Contigo AutoSeal, it is still a nice bottle that is durable, easy to use, and a kid favorite. We do recommend this bottle.
