The Skinny

The Luna Lullaby is the only pillow that we tested that offers an easy L shaped design that has extra pillow support in the curve of the pillow for baby's head. This pillow, along with the Dr Brown's Gia try to provide this extra head support, however in both cases it does little to boost the support while feeding. Although this pillow scored a 4 out of 10 for materials used, it did score 6 out of ten in the sub category of material quality thanks to its plush pillow and extra soft shell.

Nursing Comfort

Luna Lullaby provides the longest amount of arm support available, thanks to its shape, and can fit larger women very well and we believe it would be a good option for nursing twins.
Smaller women had a more difficult time using this pillow as almost seemed like "too much" pillow for them to find helpful. Additionally, the pillow lost support as baby grew and became more active during feeding. With an active feeding baby the pillow often slipped away from the body.

Ease of Use

Like the Dr Brown's Gia, this pillow can be put into place, and removed, in a matter of seconds thanks to its style that does not wrap around the body. Unfortunately the shape of the Luna Lullaby greatly impact where you can feed comfortably which is why we only gave it a 3 out so 10.
The length of the Luna Lullaby is almost too much for a smaller framed women to sit comfortably while nursing. This causes most women to sit on the edge of their chair in order to nurse comfortably. Furthermore it lacks back support or a belt to make a snugger fit.

The sides are so long that they often would butt into the backs of chairs or couches.

Materials Used

This pillow is very soft for both baby and mom to rest upon and comes with the softest cover. The material used for this cover is perfect for cool weather nursing thanks to the synthetic fibers that almost create a fleece feel. The pillow is also constructed nicely so that it can withstand a lot of use.

Ease of Cleaning

For Ease of Cleaning, the Luna Lullaby was our second lowest scoring pillow, just one point ahead of the My Breast Friend, with a 3 of 10. The shell repelled the liquid in the liquid test moderately but if left unattended any liquid on the shell takes at least five minutes to fully dry, and this can make for some wet feedings.
Putting the Luna Lullaby pillow back together after cleaning is trickier than it appears because materials within the pillow bunch up causing the pillow to change shape easily.

Additionally, only the cover can be machine washed and the cover must be laid flat to dry. Then, once cleaned and dried, the pillow took the second highest amount of time, 4:45, to get back into the cover and shaped properly again. Therefore, the entire process from cleaning to getting the pillow ready for use again took nearly 5 hours and in or opinion, for a product that you may desire to use every 3-4 hours, that is much too long.

Conclusion

In our opinion, this pillow is good for a small market of buyers; women with larger body sizes or those nursing predominately during the winter months. Additionally, if mom ends up with a caesarian delivery this pillow is gentle on the incision area thanks to its loose fit. However, if you look to nurse for a long period of time and envision nursing your baby in more locations than a kitchen chair, consider the Boppy Nursing Pillow for an extra plush experience, but also a very close fit.

Helpful Buying Tips
Although both Boppy's use a C-shape for their pillow the wider Boppy Nursing Pillow (right) is able to secure closer to mom's body thanks to its duel buckle system. The straighter edges also provide more arm support for different feeding positions.
